How we make money, and why you can trust our reviews

> we earn affiliate commissions, we tell you exactly when, and it never decides what we recommend. here's the long version.
Our Promise To You

The DOSBOSS pledge

  • We only recommend tools we'd actually use ourselves.
  • Our rankings are never for sale — no vendor can pay for a better spot.
  • Every affiliate link is disclosed, on every page.
  • If we get something wrong, we fix it — and we'd rather you tell us than quietly leave.
$How We Make Money

This site is free to read because of affiliate commissions. When we link to a tool like Envato Elements, Freepik, or Canva and you subscribe through that link, the company may pay us a commission. It costs you nothing extra — the price is identical whether you use our link or go direct. That's the entire business model. We don't sell ads to the highest bidder, we don't run sponsored "reviews," and we don't take payment to rank a tool higher.

?Why A Commission Doesn't Bend Our Opinion

The obvious worry with any affiliate site is: are they just recommending whatever pays the most? Fair question. Here's why we don't, beyond just saying so:

Our entire value to you is being right. The moment we send you to a tool that doesn't fit your work to chase a bigger payout, we've spent the one thing this site runs on — your trust — for a single commission. That's a terrible trade. A reader who trusts us comes back, opens our emails, and forwards us to a friend. A reader who feels sold to leaves and never returns. Honest recommendations aren't us being noble; they're the only version of this that survives. So when a lower-paying tool is the better fit, we say so — you'll see exactly that in our comparisons.

How We Review

We judge every tool on four things that matter to a working freelancer: whether you can legally use the output in paid client work, the value per dollar across the asset types designers actually touch, how well it fits real workflows, and whether it earns its cost back in billable time. We weight license clarity heavily, because the expensive mistake isn't the monthly fee — it's a licensing dispute on a client deliverable. Where we haven't tested something firsthand, we say so rather than dress up a guess.

When Prices & Terms Change

Affiliate terms, pricing, and program availability shift often. We re-check the tools we recommend and update pages when things move, but the provider's own site is always the final word — confirm current pricing there before you subscribe. If you spot something out of date, telling us is the fastest way to get it fixed.
